What does "mountain semi-formal" dress code mean?
Mountain semi-formal means midi/maxi dresses and suits but plan for nature! No need for tuxes, but bolo ties and cowboy hats are highly encouraged. For ladies, heels are not recommended because the wedding venue is outside and the ceremony and cocktail hour will be on grass. Wedges, flats, and cowboy boots are highly recommended!
During the day, the temperature should be not-too-hot and not-too-cool. At night, though, temperatures dip--we'll have heaters and the reception is tented, but bring a jacket, shawl, or a sweater.
Other than that, have fun and be inspired by the landscape and styles of the American West and the beautiful mountains!
How do we RSVP?
Please follow the instructions on your invitation for RSVPs!
How do we get to the wedding venue?
Transportation to and from the wedding venue is by SHUTTLE ONLY. We will be posting a detailed shuttle schedule for guests in the days leading up to the wedding and will be sure to communicate any updates. This is venue policy, county law, and in your best interest! We want our guests to have a fun, relaxing night without worrying about the roads. If you absolutely need to have a vehicle at the wedding venue, please contact Mallory via email directly.
What is the attire for the Welcome Party?
We're so glad you asked! We hope our guests will lean into Colorado's Western roots and dress in a Western theme. Think cowboy boots, hats, turquoise accents, big belt buckles, jeans, and plaid shirts. Mallory will be posting a Pinterest board for inspiration soon as well.
*Reminder to bring layers: Colorado sun can be quite warm during the day, but temperatures drop at night. And wear comfortable footwear; the Welcome Party is outdoors.
What are your tips to adjust to the altitude?
Steamboat sits at about 7,000 feet above sea level. For those traveling from outside of Colorado, this will be an adjustment. Altitude affects everyone in different ways, though some of the most noticeable changes will be requiring more hydration, feeling the effects of alcohol faster, running out of breath more easily, and noticing dry skin/sinuses/lips. Our best advice is to drink lots of water (we recommend a hydration supplement like Liquid IV), take it easy the first day or two, and pay attention to your body! Also, always pack an extra thing of chapstick.
Can I bring a guest or my kids?
We are so excited to celebrate our love and want our wedding to be full of those nearest and dearest to us who have been along for the ride for the past decade. In that spirit, we ask that you do not bring a guest or kiddos. Thank you for understanding!
What about the after party?
The after party will be taking place at Gravity Haus. The last shuttles to depart the venue will be dropping guests off directly at Gravity Haus, which is in walking distance of other hotels with room blocks.
